Skagway Child Care Subsidy Pilot Program

Supporting Skagway's Child Care Providers

The Skagway Child Care Subsidy Pilot Program is supplemental funding support for licensed child care programs located in the Borough of Skagway. Funding is based on the number of children actively served at each qualifying child care program. Monthly grants will be paid to programs by the SDC based on reported
information. The intention of this program is to utilize a successful model done elsewhere and pilot it in the community of Skagway to understand it effectiveness and impactfulness compared to other child care support programs that have been offered in the past. Based on the results, Skagway can then invest and support long-term, sustainable plans for continuing to create a culture of success and appreciation for our child care providers.
