SDC Highlights

The Skagway Development Corporation strives to become an effective economic & community development organization. In order to help us reach this goal, we offer a variety of services to the community of Skagway.  Throughout the course of our years working in Skagway, we are proud to have worked towards our mission by providing the community with grant writing assistance, hosting events, offering trainings and bringing special programming.  Following are some of the highlights and accomplishments from our work within the community.

Grant Writing Assistance

Since the inception of our organization, our efforts and collaborations with the Municipality of Skagway and other community organizations has raised $6,478,248.00 in awarded grant funds. These funds have gone towards Municipal and community projects which help to make Skagway a great place to live.  It is important to note that grant proposal writing involves countless hours of dedicated collaborative work. A challenging endeavor, grant writing can be very rewarding, but that doesn’t mean you always get the reward.  SDC is positive about our success when it comes to proposal writing and we feel it is important to name both our awarded and non-awarded grants, as both are considered an accomplishment.  Acting as an integral part in writing and submitting grant proposals on behalf of the Municipality of Skagway and other community organizations, the Skagway Development Corporation is proud to have participated in proposal writing for the following projects:
